Rationale for DPS

Rationale for DPS

I have an image in my head of what I want my double page spread to look like, and in this rationale I will explain my ideas and why I want to do this.
1.    Columns
I want to set my magazine article out into columns in order for it to be easier and more convenient for the reader to read. This way it will look more professional as almost all existing magazines have their articles set into columns.

2.    Title
I want my title to say ‘it will either make or break us’ in a bold, Impact font. I want the word ‘break’ to actually be broken up, as it will link in with the word and will associate with the theme of rock music – (stereotypically violent, as rock musicians are known to break their instruments)

3.    Main Image
I want my main image to be of my model (Peter) standing in a forest looking slightly sad and reflective. I want to do this because the article is about him reflecting on his life as a musician. For my secondary image I want to get a photo of him in band practice, as I would like both a photo of him inside his music business, and a photo of him outside.

4.    Colour Scheme
I want to stick to the main colour scheme of my magazine, and have my double page spread to be grey, red, black and white. These are all very dull colours, however the red will add a splash of vibrancy to the page, and will contrast well against the green colours of the forest in my main image.
